You gotta love a man with an accordion

Punk accordionist and world troubadour Jason Webley is described by the Seattle Times as "one of Seattle's most talented musicians". Known for his huge gravelly voice and a battered porkpie hat that dances around his head as he stomps out the beat, Webley's relentless touring schedule and legendary live performances have built him a loyal cult of followers across North America, Europe and beyond (he is especially loved in Siberia.)

A true one-man-show, Webley does all of his own booking, runs his own small record label (Eleven Records) and personally manages and designs his own web-site and struggles to maintain profiles on a plethora of social networking sites. But Webley's specialty is his live performances and Webley's involving his audience in those performances - most concerts end with the entire crowd locked arm-in-arm, singing at the top of their lungs.

Portrait of an Artist as an Independent Musician

How an accordion player from Seattle uses the web to shape a magical and successful career independent of records labels, publicists, booking agents and managers; and how he struggles to maintain independence from the internet tools he uses.
